A number of Afghan women from the AiCN network are great artists and poets that use their talents to show the situation of women in Afghanistan and the feelings of captivity and isolation they often feel in the context of the gender apartheid in their country. Raihana Akbary, who is now in Vienna through a scholarship studying a master's degree in Art, is one of these artists. This is a space to show their works of art which are one of the forms of activism for women's rights they partake in. In this collection we feature a second at-risk artist, whose name we do not share for protection. Here are three of her most recent works depicting the life of women under the current regime. She has provided titles for each work of art.
